We are excited to welcome Tessa Carson as one of the new Community Relations Interns for Goddard Public Schools and the Goddard Education Foundation!
Tessa is a senior at Eisenhower High School and has been a proud member of the Goddard Public Schools community since transferring to Apollo Elementary in second grade. Initially a shy and reserved student, Tessa credits the encouragement and support of her incredible educators with helping her find her voice and come out of her shell. From that point forward, she developed strong and lasting connections with her teachers, staff members, and the school community—relationships that continue to this day.
Tessa's experiences throughout high school have shaped a strong passion for healthcare, education, leadership, and serving others. While she plans to pursue a future in healthcare, she has also become increasingly interested in the opportunities schools can create to help students discover their interests, understand their options, and prepare for life beyond high school.
When asked why she chose this opportunity, Tessa shared that she wanted to better understand everything the district does to support her and her peers and find ways to give back to the community that has given so much to her. She is especially excited to learn more about the work happening behind the scenes to support students, staff, families, and schools across the district.
During her internship, Tessa hopes to explore ways to make the district's many career pathways, programs, resources, and opportunities easier for students and families to discover. By bringing these resources together in one accessible place, students will better understand the opportunities available to them and guide them to pathways in line with their interests and goals.
Tessa is excited to bring her perspective as a student, along with her passion for service and leadership to her role as an intern. We are proud to have Tessa join the team and look forward to the passion, ideas, leadership, and student perspective she will bring to this work!
