Improving your ACT score can result in:
· Eligibility for increased scholarship funds
· Greater likelihood of acceptance to the college/university of your choice
· Opportunities at more colleges/universities
Carolyn says, "Class of 2026 seniors should retake the ACT this fall. I predict many will score 2-5 points higher than what they scored on the Spring 2024 state test as juniors." Here's why:
The English and Math tests have been shortened significantly with fewer questions and a bit more time per question.
The Reading test has only 1 fewer question per passage but now students will have 10 minutes per passage rather than 8.5. This will make a big difference in several students' Reading scores to have that extra time and be able to read more slowly.
The Science test itself is changing very little with the same number of questions but 5 extra minutes has been added. The Science test is now optional.
"August classes are ideally timed for higher scores in September. Many seniors will benefit from taking the August 5 ACT class at EHS and re-testing in September."
