Saturday School Reminder
Parents/Guardians if your student has more than 8 absences in any of his/her classes they will need to make up that time in Saturday school. Saturday school is every Saturday (unless otherwise notified) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.in the high school library. Your student must arrive by 8:00 a.m. in order to serve Saturday school hours. If you have questions please contact your student's administrator to discuss the issue.

Forms on File
Students must have a physical form, conflict of interest form, insurance form, immunization form, and activity policy signed and on file before they will be allowed to participate in sports. Forms are available in the high school office.

Recycle
Help the EHS Science Club and the environment by sending in old cell phones and ink jet cartridges. A collection box is in the EHS front office. Thanks for your support!

Closed Lunch
A reminder to all parents that Eisenhower High School does not have an open lunch period and all students are expected to eat lunch in the school cafeteria. Students can only be dismissed to eat lunch out of school if his/her parent/guardian physically comes to the school and personally takes the student with them. Your cooperation with this regulation is greatly appreciated.

SCHOOL SAFETY HOTLINE NUMBER : 1-877-626-8203
The State of Kansas has established a School Safety Hotline in order to provide a means by which parents; patrons, students or school personnel can notify someone outside the school about potential problems concerning the safety of a school and the students. The call goes through the Kansas Highway Patrol and all information is screened and then passed on to the appropriate authorities in the school and community.

To keep your student safe at EHS, we provide police officers to help patrol the parking lot as well as monitoring our halls to maintain a safe environment. Student parking permits are required for all vehicles parked in the student lots. Permits will not be issued to drivers with an IP license. If you are in need of additional assistants, you can contact our officers through the high school office.

Schedule Changes
Changes in a student's schedule will only be made for the following reasons:

  • Student is not enrolled in a required class
  • Student is enrolled in a class for which he/she has already received credit
  • Student has not met prerequisites for the class he/she enrolled in
  • Student's schedule is incomplete
  • A teacher has recommended that the student advance to a higher level class

If you have questions about your student's schedule please contact the Counselor's Office at 316-794-4155. ALL REQUESTS FOR A SCHEDULE CHANGE MUST BE MADE IN WRITING TO THE PRINCIPAL, DR. Meyer.

If approved the guidance department will be notified and your student will receive his/her new schedule.

Progress Reports
First quarter progress reports will be given to students Thursday, September 17th. These reports are used primarily to alert parents of problems that a student may be having in a class. Please contact the teacher or guidance office if you have specific questions. With the new student data system and with the accessibility for parents through the internet for "Parent Access" we will no longer print progress reports at EHS. Parents may get on line and access student grades to get an accurate view of their student's progress.

*If you do not have access to the internet and need to receive a paper copy of the progress report – please contact the office staff at EHS – 316-794-4190.

Parents – Please contact the office to give us your E-mail Addresses to insure better communication. We are requesting this information so teachers and administrators can contact you quickly and efficiently with timely information regarding your student.

Student ID Cards
All students at Eisenhower High School will be issued a student identification card. This card is very important for your student to keep with them at all times. Not only does it serve as a photo ID, it also serves as their lunch card and library card.

Homework Requests
When requesting homework for your student, please follow the guidelines listed below:

  • If your student knows in advance that he/she will be absent, it is the student's responsibility to get assignments in advance from his/her teacher and for parents to notify the office of the absence.
  • If your student is ill for two or more days, he/she is eligible to receive homework for the days missed. Please contact the office with your request, at which time the teachers are given 24 hours to process the request.

Student Dress Code
Parent support and cooperation in enforcing our rules is appreciated!
The Goddard Board of Education has adopted a district dress code that is as follows:

"The Board Policy for Dress at the Goddard Schools shall be such as to maintain in a neat appearing student body that which promotes a learning atmosphere. The administration has complete authority to administer a dress guide to maintain this goal."

The Specific EHS guidelines are as follows: The building administrator reserves the right to disapprove any apparel that he/she feels may
create a disturbance, is distractible, or is inappropriate in the school setting. Dress code rules also apply to student dress at all school events.

Parent Volunteers
If you have an interest in volunteering at EHS in any capacity, please contact the school and let us know what you would like to do or let us know that you are available in the event that we need help with any project. Parents can also volunteer through the Parent Teacher Organization.

Student "Skip" Days
The administration of Eisenhower High School would like all parents to know that we do not and will not authorize what has become known as student 'SKIP" days. Attendance at school is required everyday and students must be excused by a parent if they are absent. We appreciate your cooperation in promoting good attendance. It is a learned skill that carries over into the work world.
